Spring Fling 2015

Centered around our annual Pig Roast this year various Monticello civic groups combined efforts and came up with the first "Spring Fling". The days events included community wide Garage Sales, Softball tournament, Auto / Tractor Show, Craft Show/Sale, Washington Center 4H plant sale, Lions & Lioness Stands and other civic vendors plus live music from the ever popular local group The Jimmies.

A list of those who either gave outright goods / services or made price reductions to help with the days events for the Fire Department. Also thanks to those who came and enjoyed the meal and some that made a extra donation to help us out.

Part of our prep work for the day the day before we "Roasted 3 Hogs" resulting in 10 Nesco rosters of pulled pork.

All members were put to work, we even gave "Clyde" a job he is our rescue mannequin here the boys are getting Clyde into Shape!!

In addition to pulled pork we also served Burgers, Brats, and Hot Dogs, kept the "Grill Masters busy!

Loaned to us for the kids Monroe Fire Departments inflatable Kids Slide.

The slide in action provided to be a great hit with the youngsters.

The Washington Center 4H club annual plant sale also vending at the Fire Station were the Lioness Club, American Legion and the Washington Church.

A new item this year a Car & Tractor Show the photo was take very late in the day. With the rainy  weather turn out was light this will only build up in years to come.

The ever popular Lions Cheese Curds were for sale at the Lions/Lioness Shelter in the downtown park.

Music for the day was provided by The Jimmys Band. from Madison the leader is Jimmy Voegli a local farmer/band leader.
